Meeting of Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Vahan Kostanyan with Minister Delegate for European Affairs of France Benjamin Haddad

On September 15, within the framework of the working visit to France, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Vahan Kostanyan had a meeting with Minister Delegate for European Affairs of the French Republic Benjamin Haddad.

The interlocutors commended the high level of political dialogue between Armenia and France, discussed upcoming programs, as well as emphasised the importance of establishing a strategic partnership.

The prospects for the further deepening of Armenia’s European integration, and in this context, the opportunities for Armenia-France cooperation, were thoroughly discussed.

Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan briefed the interlocutor on the steps undertaken by the Government of Armenia following the adoption of the law "On the launch of the process of Armenia's accession to the European Union", aimed at deepening the partnership with the European Union, providing a detailed overview of the reform agenda.

The organization process of the European Political Community Summit to be held in Armenia in 2026 was touched upon.

Vahan Kostanyan briefed the interlocutor on the historic agreements reached in Washington on August 8 in the normalisation process between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as Armenia's vision for the peace institutionalization.

Views were also exchanged on current issues on the international and regional agenda.
