Phone Conversation of the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and France

On August 11, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan held a phone conversation with the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the French Republic, Jean-Noël Barrot.

Minister Mirzoyan provided a detailed overview of the August 8 agreements, emphasizing, among other things, the initialing of the Peace Agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan as the most significant milestone in the process to date.

The Foreign Minister noted that a joint appeal by Armenia and Azerbaijan on the closure of the OSCE Minsk Process and related structures, along with the proposed draft decision, was circulated today among the OSCE participating states.

Ararat Mirzoyan and Jean-Noël Barrot exchanged views on the unprecedented opportunities for increased connectivity for the countries of the region and beyond, that can derive from the implementation of the agreement on unblocking of regional communications.

Ararat Mirzoyan expressed gratitude to France for its congratulations and continued support in the process.
